Loretta Arey

Head Intructor/Barn Manager

Loretta has been around horses all of her life.  She grew up living near a groom for the Budweiser Clydesdales, hence her love for the large breeds. Loretta took lessons at tyical lesson barns. As a child her family was not in a position that would allow her to own or lease a horse. She was also an avid figure skater, which is a great addition to a conditioning program for any equestrian.

Loretta's resume includes:

Earned Grand High Point Over All Series Champion Award at Frying Pan Park Just Jumpers Horse Show series.

Earned Grand High Point Champion Award in the Adult Hopeful Jumpers Division at Frying Pan Park.

Earned several ribbons at many different Judged Pleasure rides in the Northern VA area.

Completed a 25 mile Competitive Trail Ride (endurance ride) in 4 hours and 40 minutes on a 13.1h POA x welsh

Several courses with Carolyn Resnick.  One on one coaching calls with Carolyn reviewing videos of Loretta doing liberty work with horse.

Loretta earned her 1st Degree Black Belt in Tae Kwon Do.  Another sport she highly recommends because of the compatability with horseback riding.

Loretta saw a lack of horsemanship skills in the community and decided to begin teaching riding lessons with a focus on horsemanship over riding. Created 20/20 Horsemanship.

Loretta started training horses teaching their owners how to be a more effective leader.

One and a half years of training with Page Turner~a certified Frank Bell Trainer at the time.  Page introduced and taught Loretta the skills needed for Natural Horsemanship after Loretta's purchase of Scottie, a 17.3h Irish X Belgian.
